Jayne Murphy-Morris

Director of Volunteerism and Service Learning

Jayne Murphy-Morris has been the Director of Volunteerism and Service Learning since 2016. In her current role, Jayne advises students on volunteer sites for both curricula required service as well as opportunities to enhance personal experiences and career development.

Prior to working at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Jayne spent 10+ years in the corporate sector working for Walt Disney World and Prudential Insurance and focused on training, development, and leadership.

Jayne spent five years as the Program Director for North Porch, a small non-profit with five locations in New Jersey, while at the same time working in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark as the Director of Youth Ministry for multiple congregations in Paterson, Denville, and Wharton, NJ. She has strong ties to the nonprofit sector in Northern New Jersey and values the relationships that both she and students have built with local community partners.

Jayne is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Theology program at the College of Saint Elizabeth.


Kathryn Marafioti, M.A.

Coordinator of Student Employment and Student Government Accounts

Kathryn has worked for the College of Saint Elizabeth for 15+ years coordinating the Student Employment Program and managing all Student Government Association accounts. She manages, develops, and evaluates the day-to-day student employment program’s policies and procedures. Kathryn also manages and processes all cash, checks, and deposits for the maintenance of records of the Student Government Association's budget accounts.

In 2014, Kathryn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology with a minor in Victim Services from the College of Saint Elizabeth. In 2015, Kathryn earned her Master of Arts in Justice Administration and Public Service from CSE. Throughout her coursework, Kathryn received her mandatory 40 hour Domestic Abuse Training for the state of New Jersey and volunteered her time for the Jersey Battered Women’s Services in Crisis Response and Direct Service support.

Before joining the Experiential Learning Center at the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2005, Kathryn worked for 22 years in the private sector. She managed finances for an auto retail business. Kathryn also worked as a tuition coordinator for a private parochial grammar school.


Mayelin Torres, M.P.A.

Coordinator of Mentoring and Experiential Learning

Mayelin Torres is currently the Coordinator of Mentoring and Experiential Learning at the College of Saint Elizabeth. Since joining the ELC Team in 2017, her main role is to oversee the mentoring program. The program partners students with full-time professionals for the duration of at least two academic semesters with the ultimate goal to increase student success.

In addition, she assists CSE students with career development. Prior to working at CSE, she worked at Hudson County Community College (2013-2017). Mayelin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Economics from Seton Hall University and a Master of Public Administration from Seton Hall University.


Valerie Martin

Valerie Martin came to work at CSE in 2004 after her career in Communications and Marketing for two public utility companies that spanned 16 years. In her 15+ years of working in higher education, she has held positions in institutional advancement, communications, human resources, student life, and marketing.

Valerie holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees. Her first degree was earned in 1996 in Communications from Kean University. Valerie earned her second degree in 2011 from the College of Saint Elizabeth in English and received the Student Academic Leadership Award.
