2004 Recipient

Nancy T. Delaney graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration/Management. One of the early participants in the College's newly formed Weekend College Program, Nancy's academic achievements quickly proved the benefit of that program for women who entered or reentered the work force after their children were raised.

The mother of six sons and one daughter and the grandmother of seven, Nancy is presently employed as Senior Probation Officer in the Community Service Program for the Morris County Probation Department. At a glance, that seems like a busy schedule. However, for Nancy there are other dimensions to her life. She, with her late husband, Robert, and four other couples founded "Five Friends, Inc.", a group home for their adult developmentally disabled children. Since last spring, she has served as President of the Board of Employment Horizons, an agency that provides workforce training and jobs to persons with disabilities.

Nancy's professional experience, her initiative and loving foresight, her collaboration with others for the good of many, and her endless hours of volunteer work mark her as particularly worthy of the College of Saint Elizabeth's 2004 Mother Xavier Award.
