Morristown, N.J. (September 18, 2019) – The CSE400 Honors Back-to-School drive gathered over 100 supplies for The AIDS Resource Foundation for Children (ARFC). The ARFC, located in Newark, seeks to help children, families, and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS or other health related issues.

"I felt compelled to donate to the back to school drive because I have been blessed with a caring, loving family that has always been able to give me what I need," says Jacqueline Merlos, '20. "We're doing this to support children that require items for school but their families are unable to afford them."

From medical care and doctor visits to treatments and medication, caring for patients with HIV/AIDS can be very expensive. In fact, families frequently struggle to make ends meet, so buying supplies for a new academic year compounds their financial burden.

"The ARFC gives families the love, stability, and basic care they need to navigate their illness and often times their poverty,'' says Dr. Nicole Yanoso, instructor for the CSE400 class.

Due to the tireless efforts of the CSE community, children will be receiving notebooks, folders, pens, backpacks and everything they need for a successful year!
