Transfer Credits

The College of Saint Elizabeth accepts in transfer only those courses in which a minimum grade of "C" has been received. Upon acceptance to CSE, your previous college record will be given a Credit Evaluation. This evaluation will indicate how many of your credits are accepted in transfer. The number of credits accepted will depend on your intended major and the number of credits applied toward that major. Generally, no more than 72 credits from another institution will be accepted toward the 128 credits required for the CSE degree.

Transfer Students Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How will I know if all my credits from another institution will transfer?
During your personal consultation with a CSE transfer counselor, you can present a student copy of your college transcript and receive a preliminary evaluation. After receiving all official transcripts, the College will forward an official evaluation of your transfer credits.
  2. How long will it take for me to finish my bachelor's degree if I already have an AA?
The length of time will vary depending on the major you select and how many of your previous college credits are acceptable toward that major.
  3. Is housing available for transfer students?
On-campus housing will be assigned on a space available basis in one of the College's two residence halls for full-time students enrolled in the Women's College. The residence halls are conveniently located near classrooms, the dining hall, student center, library and other facilities. All residents pay a comprehensive room and board fee.
  4. What help is available for exploring career options and job opportunities?
Services available to students through CSE Career Services Department include:
    • Interview Tips
    • Resume and Cover Letter Writing
    • Job Search Strategies
    • Career Information Library
    • On-Campus Employment Opportunities
    • Access to Internet Job Bank
    • Alumnae Network
    • Information on Internships
  5. Are scholarships available?
Full-time transfer students with a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher from their previous college are eligible to receive a transfer scholarship. They must have completed at least 32 credits at their previous college and enrolled immediately following their full-time enrollment at the prior college. Scholarships range up to half tuition, depending upon the student's cumulative grade point average and her credit load at CSE.
