Why CSE

Preparing responsible leaders for meaningful lives in a changing world has been CSE's hallmark since we were founded more than a century ago. We accomplish this by bringing motivated students together with outstanding teachers in small classes that involve you deeply in your learning.

At the heart of a CSE education is a challenging academic program with a firm foundation in our Catholic, liberal arts tradition. It's an education that teaches you to be inquisitive, to think critically, to consider ideas that are different from yours, to express yourself effectively, to take a position and defend it – skills that will serve you well in any walk of life. And you will get an education focused on building character along with intellect.

At CSE you will find a wide range of opportunities in a close-knit learning environment. The traditional undergraduate program offers a wide range of majors and programs of study. Our Continuing Studies and Graduate Studies programs prepare students for career advancement in high-demand fields.

An array of co-curricular activities enriches your education. We offer 25 student clubs and organizations and competitive Division III athletics in six sports. And we're only a short train ride from New York City, an ideal location for internships and mentorships, or simply for enjoying the city's wealth of cultural and recreational opportunities.

Finally, CSE is committed to providing a superior educational experience that is affordable. We invest heavily in our students through a generous program of financial aid and strive to maintain competitive tuition levels.
