Day 1 - Wednesday, August 22, 2012


9 am - 12:15 pm:
On Your Mark, Get Set GO!: Check In & Morning Activities

Welcome to Orientation 2012! You will be starting in the Gym in Saint Joseph Hall. Resident students can then proceed to their Residence Hall to check-in and move-in! If you are not moving into our Residence Halls, feel free to scout out the campus, visit the bookstore, lounges and gardens or go directly to lunch.

9 am - noon: Access Pass: ID Photos
No entries permitted without an ID photo! This is your only chance during Orientation to get your CSE ID card at Henderson Hall, first floor. Your ID is required for meals, library usage, and residence hall entry. Please make sure you have yours!

11 am - 12:45 pm: Gold Medal Meals: Lunch
Getting hungry? Keep your energy up by heading over to Rose Dining Room in Saint Joseph Hall for lunch.  Our Food Services, Chartwells, has prepared a winning meal to get you ready for the games to come!  Family and friends are welcome!

Noon - 12:45 pm: The Drive: Commuters Welcome Session
Commuter students and their families should also head to Rose Dining Room to pack their lunch in "to go" containers to bring downstairs to your exclusive destination - Café Jose! Here you will be greeted by current commuting students who will help you go the distance.

1:30 - 2:00 p.m.:Opening Ceremonies: Welcome
Let the games begin!  All students and family members should jog on over to the Greek Theater for an official welcome! 

2:00 - 5:00 pm: Passing the Baton: Parent Orientation
It's time for family members to head over to Dolan Performance Hall in Annunciation Center for a special session designed just for them! Lots of great information will be provided for you to help train and prepare your daughter to successfully achieve the main goal - graduation!

2:00 - 2:15 pm: Team Huddle: Team Gold Introductions
Stay right in the Greek Theater because it's time for you to meet your group of experienced students who will coach you through these exciting days of Orientation.

2:15 pm - 2:45 pm: Cross Training: Transfer Student 
Follow your Team G.O.L.D. Leaders to Ward Dining Room in Saint Joseph Hall for this session designed to address your unique needs and concerns as you work your way through the next challenging, yet rewarding years of your college career.

2:15 - 2:45 pm: Team Spirit: Icebreakers- First Year Students
It's not time to rest just yet! Follow your Team G.O.L.D Leaders and get ready to meet your teammates.  Let's get the ball rolling!

3:00 - 5:00 pm: Rules of Engagement: Student Life Session- All Students
For CSE to start feeling like your own turf, you need to get involved. CSE is swarming with extra-curricular activities sure to please! Make your way over to the Gym to unearth some great opportunities!

5:15 - 5:45 pm: Ignite Your CSE Spirit: New Beginnings Family Blessing
All families will be re-united at Holy Family Chapel for a final farewell blessing before families depart and students officially begin their routines.  This beautiful ecumenical blessing will thank God for bringing us together and guiding us on our shared journey. All are welcome!

5:45 pm: Heading Home: Parents Depart Campus

6:00 - 6:30 pm: Gold Medal Meals: Dinner
Meals made for Champions! Dinner in Rose Dining Room in Saint Joseph Hall. *Remember to sit with your team.*

6:30 - 8:00 pm: Leaving A Legacy: Team Projects
It's time for your team to jump off the bench and make its mark! Head to McGuire Lounge in Saint Joseph Hall to work on your Team Projects!  It's one of the best aspects of Orientation!

8:00 pm: Sportsman-Like Conduct: Residence Life
Meet yours Managers of Residence Life who will equip you with all the rules and regulations to being a resident team player here on campus!  If you're a resident, or a commuter who's bunking with the on-campus team during Orientation, you must attend the session being held on your residential floor!  Commuters departing for the night are free to Head for Home, but be sure to remember your morning practice and meet up with your teams tomorrow!

 

Day 2 - Thursday, August 23, 2012
 

9:00 am - 9:30 am: Drills: Fire Drill
Resident students and commuters staying over must participate in the Fire Drill to learn just where to meet and who to check in with.  Remember that the Cafeteria will not be open until after these drills are done!

9:30 am - 10:00 am: Gold Medal Meals: Breakfast
Breakfast in Rose Dining Room, Saint Joseph Hall!   *Commuters - Welcome Back to campus!*

10:30 am - 3:30 pm: Spirit in Motion: "The Spirit of New Jersey" Boat Cruise w/ Lunch
Dive right into our next CSE tradition and join our cruise around Manhattan!  You don't have to get your feet wet to enjoy the music, lunch, and dancing.  Join us on deck for a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty!  The buses leave promptly from the front of Saint Joseph Hall.  Remember to bring your camera! 

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Jumping the Hurdles: Emergency Preparedness
It's time to rally around safety in Dolan Performance Hall!  You'll learn about emergency preparedness and meet the key staff members so you don't find yourself out for the count!

5:15 pm - 6:00 pm: Gold Medal Meals: Dinner
Dinner in Rose Dining Room, Saint Joseph Hall!   *Remember to sit with your team.*

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: There's No "I" in Team: But There's a "U" in Community
Get ready to give it your all as your team huddles in Xavier Center to learn how every member of the CSE community makes a difference.

8:00 pm: Cool Down: Ice Cream Social and Team Projects
Great job today!  Time for a well deserved cool-down treat in Rose Dining Room.   We're nearing the finish line so this will also be your last chance to complete your team project.

 

Day 3 - Friday, August 24, 2012
 

9:00 am - 9:30 am: Gold Medal Meals: Breakfast
Power up with Breakfast in Rose Dining Room and get ready for the events of the day.   *Commuters - Welcome Back to campus!*

9:45 am - 11:00 am: Qualifiers: SAP Program
Join us in Dolan Performance Hall for this training session designed to help students stay at their peak performance regarding healthy lifestyle choices as you encounter new challenges and opportunities at CSE.
*This session fulfills the requirements for the SAP Program.* 

11:00 pm - 12:30 pm: Mental Preparation: Academic Preparedness
Please remain in Dolan Performance Hall.  Get your head in the game to get your best score in the classroom.  Learn how to strengthen your academic muscles with study skills and motivational strategies to achieve your ultimate college goals.  

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm: Closing Ceremonies: Final Luncheon/Presentations
As you attend the closing ceremonies in Rose Dining Room, reflect on your efforts and be proud of your achievements.  Gather with your fellow CSE Champions to celebrate the official closing of Orientation 2012!
