SUNY Cobleskill set to host 2012-13 NEAC Swimming & Diving Championships

Cobleskill, N.Y. -- SUNY Cobleskill will serve as the host site for the 2012-13 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Swimming & Diving Championships from Friday, February 15 thru Sunday, February 17 in Bouck Hall Natatorium. The action will begin at 10 a.m. with each day’s event preliminary rounds followed by each day’s event championship round sessions starting at 6 p.m. Admission to the event will be $5 per day for adults and $3 per day for students with children under five years-of-age admitted for free. SUNY Cobleskill students, faculty and staff members will be admitted free-of-charge with college ID.

This will mark the second time that SUNY Cobleskill has hosted the NEAC Championships since the swimming & diving was adopted as a conference sport in 2010. Aside from the host Fighting Tigers the field will include: the Wildcats of Cazenovia College from Cazenovia, N.Y., the Bison of Gallaudet University from Washington D.C., The Express of Wells College from Aurora, N.Y. and the Screaming Eagles of the College of Saint Elizabeth located in Morristown, N.J.

Last year, Saint Elizabeth placed fifth overall with top finishes from Maria Corall and Veronica Lubsen.  Freshmen at the time, placed on the NEAC Second Team All-Conference for their second place finishes in multiple events.  The Eagle’s 800 freestyle relay placed on the Second Team All-Conference as well which consisted of Corall, Lubsen, Shannon Tipton and Mary Karkos.  Jennifer Scully landed on the Third Team All-Conference in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 3:02:84.  In addition, Scully and her teammates placed third in both the 400 yard freestyle relay and 400 yard medley relay.
