CSE tennis swept by Penn St.-Berks

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The College of Saint Elizabeth tennis team lost 9-0 as Penn St-Berks swept the North Eastern Athletic Conference match on Friday afternoon.

Penn St-Berks (9-3, 6-0) remains undefeated in the conference while Saint Elizabeth falls to 1-7overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Rookie Maame Quainoo held two of the eight sets but could not pull away with a win in first singles. Junior Amy Cooper put up a tough fight in third singles, stealing two sets for the Eagles but would fall short 8-2. Cooper partnered up with junior teammate Chiamaka Nwangwu in second doubles but lost 8-2.

Penn St.-Berks swept the first and third doubles 8-0 as well as second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Head Coach Scott Yarnell achieved his 100th win after Elizabeth Kehm clinched the second single spot.

The Eagles face Lancaster Bible tomorrow at 1 p.m. at home.
