The College of Saint Elizabeth is opening its campus and lending its expertise on nutrition to a Healthy Family Fun Fair set for Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Morristown campus. Other event sponsors include Goryeb Children's Hospital, the Star-Ledger | NJ.com and ShopRite. Admission is free by pre-registering at www.healthyfamilyfair.com.
Throughout the day, attendees will be able to participate in events that focus on fitness, nutrition, the fun side of medicine and healthy living.
Those interested in fitness can work with the Red Bulls street team, hone their athletic skills with trainers from the Parisi Speed School at Atlantic Sports Health, and take classes with instructors from the YMCA to learn the latest exercise routines. Foodies will get tips and hands-on experience in healthy eating and cooking from CSE faculty members in the nutrition programs. Future scientists can try their hand at surgery with the daVinci robot.
Other activities include a rock climbing wall, a trip inside a larger than life human heart and brain, and sessions on the power of art and music in health.
