Nittany Lions Roar Past CSE in NEAC Opener

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Penn St.-Berks women’s soccer team scored early and often on a sunny Saturday afternoon, topping homestanding Saint Elizabeth 13-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action at Soccer/Lacrosse Field.

Berks (2-1, 1-0 NEAC) tallied seven scores in the first half, led by two goals from midfielder Taylor Schwartz.

The Nittany Lions added six more scores in the final 45 minutes with Simone Stewart and Dana Sarcinello recording hat tricks on the afternoon.               

CSE goalkeeper Carla Martinez made 12 saves in her collegiate debut in net.

Saint Elizabeth (0-2, 0-1 NEAC) will travel to New York City on Monday to face Mount Saint Vincent in a 7:45 p.m. nonconference match. After three more road contests, the Screaming Eagles return to Morristown on Sept. 21 for a 1 p.m. match with Wells.
