Bringing in the holiday season with Santa, College of Saint Elizabeth students celebrated at their annual, progressive Christmas party that winds through the campus on December 13, 2012. Beginning at 4:30 p.m., students, faculty, and staff gathered in the campus’s Xavier Center to pose with Santa Claus and enjoy appetizers.
“Christmas-time is the best time”, said a student on campus. While many were enjoying the entertainment performed by faculty members, others headed to McGuire Lounge in Saint Joseph Hall at 5:30 p.m. for a dinner that included shrimp, rice, chicken and much more – Mouths were watering to get a taste of what was cooking. Sing alongs and jokes were made, providing the group with the spirit of the season. Twelve Days of Christmas CSE- style was something everyone enjoyed. The students were also entertained with special carols sung by the faculty and staff. “I’m so glad I attended this event”, said a former CSE student.
At 6:30p.m., everyone gathered in O’Connor Parlor where music was blasting as the guests enjoyed desserts, caroling, and crafts. Laughter could be heard and singing too, but it was certain that no one left unpleased at the end of the party, and everyone was happy that they took the time out to attend this holiday event. “This was a great experience, I really felt connected to each and every staff member tonight, it felt like a family and I will continue to come to this party every year,” stated Jykira Baker who attended for the first time.
