CSE women break NEAC swimming record in 400-yard medley relay

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Saint Elizabeth’s 400-yard medley relay team broke a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) record Friday night by nearly 13 seconds on the first night of the conference championships hosted by SUNY Cobleskill.

The CSE quartet of Kristin King, Maria Corall, Jennifer Scully and Veronica Lubsen swam to a conference record time of 4:33.11 to win the 400-yard medley relay. 

Corall also had a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a personal-best time of 26.62 with teammate Lubsen close behind in third place (27.74). 

Also making the medal stand was King, who swam third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:47.64).

The 200 yard freestyle relay that consisted of Lubsen, King, Corall and Shannon Tipton took second place with a time of 1:50.28.

The Screaming Eagles are currently in third place overall with 103 points.  Wells College held the first slot with 165 points and Cazenovia was not far behind with 131 points.

The championships continue on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
