MS in Health Care Management alumna Caroline Bogart, RN, BSN, MS, CGRN, was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center. As COO, Ms. Bogart will be responsible for oversight of clinical operations, patient safety, risk management, improvements in clinical proto-cols, and nursing care for the outpatient facility, as well as continued patient care. She formerly served at St. Barnabas as Nurse Executive (2005), and as Nursing Administrative Director (2002).
“Carrie” Bogart began her career as a staffing nurse after receiving her undergraduate degree at CSE. Encouraged by a co-worker to apply for an open position at a nursing management level, her career took on a new trajectory. “This was not the career path I expected, and I am extremely fortunate…..I have been involved in events I would never have imagined being part of.”
In addition to her position at Barnabas Health, Ms. Bogart serves as an adjunct professor in CSE’s Health Care Management program, where she teaches Organizational Behavior and Health Care Systems and Environments. “School has been very important in the advancement of my career” says Bogart. “I am living proof that students can survive the program. It is most important for students to know the significance course work has in the field of health care management.”
Professor Bogart is an active member of the HCM Advisory Board. One of the original members, she joined the Board in 2007. As the only member of the board to have graduated from the HCM program, she brings a significant and valuable vantage point to the board discussions.
Professor Bogart hopes to continue teaching, continue her mission within ambulatory care, and en-courage students to advance their education. Her love for learning has won her the Outstanding Achievement Award from CSE’s HCM program, while her dedication to providing the best service to patients earned her the Excellence in Caring Award from Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care.
