Senior Kelly O’Dell has been named NEAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward did a little bit of everything for the Screaming Eagles to lead them to a 2-1 week, averaging 11.3 points, 14 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 56 percent (14-for-25) from the field and being the individual leader in both rebounds and steals during all three contests.
O’Dell opened the week with game highs of 12 rebounds and five steals in a 71-53 win over Cedar Crest College last Tuesday, where she also finished with 10 points and three assists. She would accomplish the same feat in a tight 58-52 road loss to Gallaudet University Saturday, as she again grabbed a game-best 14 rebounds and had a game-high four steals to go along with nine points. She would help Saint Elizabeth rebound the next day against Yeshiva by flirting with a quadruple-double, registering 15 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals and six assists in the 82-77 win.
O’Dell currently leads the NEAC in steals per game at 5.2, while the Screaming Eagles have opened the season at 3-2 overall.
