The Screaming Eagles dropped their home opener to FDU-Florham on Tuesday night, 102-50.
The 20th ranked Devils from FDU controlled the tempo early in the first half. Their full court press deemed tough for CSE to handle. Danesha Triplett led the Eagles down low once again, scoring 12 points and grabbing 4 boards. Alivia Roseboro added her only 3 pointer of the game in the first half, to get the Eagles within 35-25 late in the half. The Eagles defense fought tough, holding FDU to 40% shooting in the half. Despite the Eagles battling, they found themselves trailing 47-30 at the break.
The Screaming Eagles did not fare much better in the second half. The full court press continued to give CSE problems, forcing them into a season high 31 turnovers. Amerisse Rodgers dropped 6 of her 9 points in the second half. The Eagles did manage to get to the line in the second half. They attempted 15 free throws, making 10 of them. FDU ultimately proved too tough for the Eagles, taking the contest 102-50.
The Eagles return to action on December 2nd when they travel to New York to take on Purchase College.
