Screaming Eagles swimming break six school records

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The College of Saint Elizabeth swimming team broke six school records during their last two home contests.  Freshman, Veronica Lubsen landed North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) student-athlete of the week ending on October 30, after placing first in the 50-yard freestyle and second in both the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke in the season opener.

Maria Corall broke two school records after taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.80 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:52.37 in the win over Mount Saint Vincent.

Against Notre Dame Unviersity of Maryland, Kristin King broke her own 100-yard backstroke record with a time of 1:07.50.  Corall also broke her own 200-yard breaststroke record with a time of 2:49.70 and broke teammate Chanice Sears’ 200-yard butterfly record with a time of 2:41.87.  The 200-yard freestyle relay broke the record with a first place finish and a time of 1:54.60.  The relay team included Lubsen, Corall, King and Shannon Tipton.

Corall and King also received NEAC student-athlete of the week honors.

The Eagles are 1-2 overall and face William Paterson tonight at 7:00pm at Saint Elizabeth.
