CSE Drops Heartbreaker to Wells

The Screaming Eagles dropped a heartbreaker at Wells College on Saturday, losing 48-47.

CSE jumped out to an early lead when the relay team of Ashley Siscko, Alexandra Budd, Jennifer Scully, and Veronica Lubsen won the 200 yard relay with a time of 2:09.24. Budd added to CSE’s point total, finishing second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:40.78.

Veronica Lubsen and Caitlin Potter dominated the 50 freestyle with times of 27.75 and 29.81 respectively, giving CSE 8 points on the race.  Maria Corall followed up with another first place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:30.21. Budd added a second place finish in the same event with a time of 2:36.59. Corall also added 5 points in the 100 yard freestyle with a winning time of 59.31.

CSE held a 47-41 lead going into the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay. Wells College rallied to edge out CSE in the relay, adding 7 points to their total and defeating the Eagles 48-47. The Screaming Eagles return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Cedar Crest at 7 pm.
