Morristown, N.J. (October 17, 2017) – Last month, six CSE students and faculty members won best paper awards at the International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research (IOSSBR) Conference. This conference, which was held in Atlantic City, included scholars, academicians and practitioners from all over the world.

Both members of CSE's psychology and business departments were awarded for their impressive research.

Dr. Chloe G. Bland, chair of CSE's undergraduate psychology program, and Dr. Michelle M. Barrett, director of CSE's Psy.D. doctoral program, were awarded best paper for their article, "The Chilly Climate Gets Warmer: Perceptions of Classroom Experience in a Newly Coeducational College."

Bland and Barrett, in conjunction with Crystal Marrero, '18, and Nancy Tiffany, '16, also received the best paper award for "A New Take on the Good Old Boys Network: The Role of Mentorship and Self-Efficacy in the Success of First Generation College Students."

Wendy Hahn, business administration instructor, and Dr. Regina Riccioni, chair of business and health administration, were awarded best paper for their "Career Decision Marking in First Semester Business Students: Focus 2 Results Analysis, Reflection, and Self-Knowledge."

"The International Organization of Social Sciences and Behavioral Research (IOSSBR) provided an opportunity to share ideas with colleagues at other institutions from a range of academic disciplines," says Barrett. "We were thrilled that the business and psychology departments were recognized for best paper awards. The conference allowed us to showcase some of the great work that is going on at CSE."

The papers will be published in the IOSSBR Journal, "Journal of Social Sciences Research" later this academic year.
