Morristown, N.J. (July 28, 2015) – Armed with academic knowledge of advanced dietetics and now with 1200 hours of supervised practice, 20 students graduated from CSE's dietetic internship program in June 2015 with a ceremony lauding their accomplishments.
This is the last class of interns completing the stand-alone internship and earning up to nine credits upon matriculation to the M.S. in Nutrition. Future classes will be enrolled in the 38-credit combined M.S. in Nutrition/Dietetic Internship Program, earning both a degree and eligibility to sit for the National Registration Exam for Dietitians/Nutritionists (RD/RDN).
The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited dietetic internship provides experience in a variety of health care settings, retail food stores, schools, community programs and corporate settings with on-site wellness programs. A mentor at each site oversees the work of each intern.

Catherine Gruenfelder BS '13, MS '14, who was given the academic achievement award, said, "I made many friends through this program; we all supported one another, especially when we felt overwhelmed, and today, we are ready to begin the next chapter in our careers. CSE has given us many opportunities to soar."
Registered dietitian/nutritionists, who are an important part of society's emphasis on healthy living, will work closely with other medical specialties to provide food and nutrition services and care in a variety of medical settings. This profession also is found in school systems, holistic centers, corporate centers, and food stores acting as advisors and counselors, not just for weight management, but for developing healthy lifestyles and for the nutritional management of disease. CSE has a strong Foods and Nutrition Program designed to meet this growing need with bachelor's and master's degrees and supervised practice to fully prepare students for this field.
CSE is the only private college in New Jersey with the foods and nutrition program and one of two that offers a master's in nutrition.
