Morristown, N.J. (April 21, 2015) – Math major, Laura Marchelitis '15, counts her blessings as she thanks the CSE community for making her transfer "a piece of cake" ... or, rather, pi.
Marchelitis, a resident of Berkley Heights, N.J., transferred from Kutztown University to CSE in the fall 2014 semester to finish her degree in mathematics. CSE took the financial burden off, she explained, because CSE allowed her to finish in one year instead of an extra four semesters she would have had to take at her previous college.
"The admissions office and my professors helped me map out a way I could complete my undergraduate degree in just two semesters."
Her professors, Marchelitis said, have encouraged and empowered her since she arrived: "My knowledge has only grown from being in their classes."
"It's been a pleasure having Laura in class," mathematics professor, Dr. Paul Rossi, said. "She is one of our brightest mathematics students."
Marchelitis is currently participating in an independent study with Dr. Rossi in Game Theory, and he said Marchelitis has done a great job learning the material and completing her work.
After her graduation this May, Marchelitis hopes to pursue her master's degree in education to become a high school math teacher.
Wherever Marchelitis decides to go, she will always remember the impact CSE made on her life during her one-year stay.
"CSE has provided me with not only a great education, but also the confidence I never thought I had."
