Morristown, N.J. (July 30, 2014) – Elbie Love enjoys studying history because it is a component of all subjects – it's not limited. Her passion is studying intellectual moments in history – women's rights, the renaissance, etc. "I like looking at new ideas, new movements that promote change ... Eventually, I would like to continue this study in graduate school."
CSE gives her a chance to lay that foundation for graduate study. "CSE feels like home ... there is no better feeling," said the senior history major from Hoboken, N.J., who is also minoring in global studies.
When Love was applying to colleges, she had a check-off list. The college had to meet four criteria: the campus had to feel like home; it had to be safe walking at night; it had to have good programs of study; and, it had to be an intimate setting where students were not numbers. After applying to and gaining acceptance to three colleges – two in New Jersey and one in Pennsylvania, Love chose CSE.
In addition to academics, she participates in the leadership program and its community service volunteer opportunities, as well as serving as president of the philosophy club.
"I like the feeling on campus at CSE ... when you go outside, it's beautiful. I love the trees and the campus setting. It feels like home.
