Morristown, N.J. (March 9, 2015) – Alumnae Winifred Markell Johanson '67 and Susan McGlory Michel '80 have joined the College's board of trustees, beginning their terms on February 27, 2015.
Johanson graduated with a degree in English and has spent her career in computer systems and technology beginning as an applications programmer, advancing into management and retiring in 2001 as a computer security advisor. She has worked for IBM and ExxonMobil Corporation at its Corporate Computing Center and Research and Engineering Company. Her resume includes past and current board memberships for the CSE Alumni Association (past president), NJ 2-1-1 Partnership (past president), the NJ Sierra Club, Loantaka Group, and St. Joseph Social Service Center. She has received the CSE Alumna/i Association Distinguished Alumna Award and Distinguished Leadership Award. In addition to many internal IBM and Exxon awards, she received the YMCA Tribute to Women in Industry Award in 1995. She is serving as the CSE '67 reunion chair. Johanson lives in New Providence, N.J.
Michel graduated with a degree in education. After a few years of teaching, she became a financial advisor and entrepreneur. She started her own financial services firm, Glen Eagle Advisors, in Princeton, N.J. and has used her teaching background to help her clients understand their finances. Michel remains involved in her community as a trustee at the Hun School of Princeton and the Barnegat Light Taxpayers' Association on Long Beach Island, treasurer of the Iron Mike Foundation of Trenton Catholic Academy, Chair of the Cranbury Women's Club Scholarship Committee and a member of the Women Presidents' Organization and the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners. She has received a number of awards for her leadership, vision, and support of female entrepreneurs, including 2014 Enterprising Women of the Year, 2013 NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business, 2012 Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners of New Jersey, 2012 Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton Catholic Women in Business and has been recognized as a Five Star Wealth Advisor for several years.
