Flexible Program Options Prove Popular With Adult Students

Morristown, N.J. (February 3, 2017) – ED CHOICE is a success. Introduced in fall 2016, the program allows adult students in the management and theology programs to come and go between online and on-campus classes based on their weekly individual needs and preferences. It is continuing this spring, and will expand in semesters thereafter.

"I recently completed my first semester in the Master's in Management program and I do appreciate having the option of attending classes online as well as on campus," said Michelle Geary, a Florham Park resident. "While I normally attend class on campus, it was helpful to be able to attend online when I had a scheduling conflict. This allowed me to still get credit for attendance and keep up with the work load."

Michelle, who works in the global medical affairs ophthalmology department at Bayer, is continuing in the program this semester, taking Ethical Issues for the first seven-week session, and Strategic Management for the second or B session.

"This program is the perfect fit for me," she said. "If you have to miss class, you just keep up online; everything is posted to Moodle."

In choosing CSE for graduate work, Michelle is following in the footsteps of her mother, Susan Meehan, class of 1966, and two of her aunts. She researched the ED CHOICE program online, enrolled in the program and hopes to graduate in fall 2018.

This reaction to the new program is shared by others.

"Student reception has been positive," said Paul Langenbach, adjunct professor of business administration and management. "In several instances, students experienced unplanned travel or other commitments and ED CHOICE afforded them the opportunity to stay fully engaged in the classes. The ED CHOICE method of curriculum delivery sets up students for success," he concluded.
