ED CHOICE Student Profile: Kalene Stockhaus, '19, M.S. in Management

Morristown, N.J. (May 9, 2018) – "These days, people are rarely just working or going to school full-time," says Kalene Stockhaus, '19. "Frequently, they're doing both on top of managing families, second jobs and all kinds of other commitments. That's why ED CHOICE is so important."

ED CHOICE is a program, unique to the College of Saint Elizabeth, that helps students navigate the demands of modern life. Each week, the students choose whether to attend class on campus or online depending on their individual schedules. This ensures that graduate work will never suffer from last minute meetings or pressing deadlines.

"Both the online option and the in-class option reference the same material each week," explains Stockhaus. "This means, if you can't physically attend class, you'll never miss a lesson or assignment."

Stockhaus, who graduated from college last year and currently works in Institutional Advancement for CSE, has been using the ED CHOICE program to enhance her education.

"After graduating, I just wanted to start my career immediately," says Stockhaus. "Spending two years going to school full-time just wasn't an option for me."

Currently, ED CHOICE is available for five master's programs (management, theology, health administration, public health and nursing) as well as one doctoral program (Ed.D. in educational leadership in the higher ed track).

"I really enjoy ED CHOICE because I'm still able to have personal relationships with the professors," says Stockhaus. "It's unlike an entirely online course where you might never even meet the professor. I have the ability to see them and talk to them if a concept confuses me."

Whether you're a busy parent who has to juggle schoolwork with board meetings, soccer practices and family dinners, or a recent graduate who doesn't want to sacrifice practical experience for an education, ED CHOICE may be a perfect fit for you.
