Music and Dance

Student Profile: Erica Street-Valentin, '16

Music minor Erica sings CSE's praises as she acknowledges how her close relationship with her music professors help her open up and succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

"The program teaches me how to understand music on a different level. The theory, history and performance classes help me understand where music comes from and how it affects people."

Program Offerings

The Music and Dance programs bring together performance, theory and history for a comprehensive understanding of each of these important artistic mediums. Students often develop an academic approach in partnership with other disciplines to create an individualized interest area. Musical collaborations with neighboring Drew University, and access to our 560-seat Dolan Performance Hall and its frequent concerts allows our students to create, imagine, explore and grow musically. Local professional dance performances and the CSE Dance Club help dance minors reinforce technical and choreographic skills.
