Joan Knight Barbato '50 Mother Xavier Award 1985
Joan double-majored in English and History. For the past thirty years she has been a reporter and columnist for the Daily Record. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Morris County Red Cross, and, over the years, given time to church, alumnae, and other organizations, including the Girl Scouts, and, in an advisory capacity, the Junior League of Morristown. Joan received the Mother Xavier Award in 1985, and in 1999 she garnered two more well-deserved distinctions: the Morristown Kiwanis Club named her Citizen of the Year, and she was inducted into Morristown High School's Hall of Fame. "CSE affirmed the moral values I learned from my parents and gave me the education that has always been a source of joy. No one could have had better teachers!"
