Center for Ministry & Spirituality

Overview

The Center for Ministry and Spirituality (formerly known as the Center for Theological and Spiritual Development) at the College of Saint Elizabeth offers ongoing opportunities for the spiritual and theological formation of the laity. Its programs are open to everyone, and the personal and ministerial development of laity in the Church is its special focus.

The goal of the Center is to share the richness of the Catholic Christian tradition with others so that they can use Gospel values to create a hope-filled future for the Church and society.

The Center has a special commitment to developing skills for ministry in multicultural settings and providing opportunities for inter-religious dialogue through its annual convocations and summer institutes, in addition to various workshops and on-campus events.

Building on 30 years of faithful service to the laity and the Church, the Center for Ministry and Spirituality is proud to announce the launch of several new initiatives, including:

The Center for Ministry and Spirituality is now part of the newly established DePaul Center for Mission and Ministry along with:

  • Geraldine Riordan Center for Volunteerism and Service Learning
  • Office of Campus Ministry

Academic Programs

The College of Saint Elizabeth's Theology Department offers a wide variety of certificate and bachelor degree programs for adult who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.

Student can earn 25 undergraduate theological credits in 24 months, with credits transferable into other programs of study, leading to baccalaureate degrees.

Courses are offered in-class and online, and are taught in both English and in Spanish.
