Largest Class in CSE History Graduates, May 10, 2008

The sun broke through on Saturday, May 10, 2008, as 478 men and women received their degrees at the College of Saint Elizabeth’s (CSE) 106th Commencement – making this year graduating class the largest in the College’s history.

CSE Justice Studies Students Learn About Law Enforcement at Internship

Ashley Graf, left, and Alison Grunfelder, CSE Women’s College seniors, flank Glen Johnstone of the Florham Park Police Department, where both are interning this semester.

 

Ms. Graf, a justice studies and sociology major from Whitehouse Station, N.J., will work part-time as a police dispatcher with the department following graduating next month. She is fulfilling her father’s dream of becoming a police officer.

 

Ms. Grunfelder, a psychology and victim services major, is from Florham Park, N.J.

 

The College offers nearly 30 courses in justice studies, and Dr. James F. Ford, Jr., a retired lieutenant in the Chatham Township Police Department, is an assistant professor in the department.

CSE to Hold 106th Commencement, May 10

On Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m., the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, New Jersey, will hold its 106th Commencement exercises in a tent on the front lawn of campus. During the ceremonies, 259 undergraduate students and 219 graduate students are expected to receive their degrees. With 478 graduating men and women* receiving degrees, this year’s is the largest graduating class in CSE history.

Yo Charlie! CSE Welcomes Chattanooga Artist, Pastor Charlie Newton to Campus, March 25

Sitting front and center on stage, with all eyes focused solely on him, Chattanooga, Tenn. artist and pastor Charlie Newton is poised with a sense of serenity. Laid back and easy going, he is quick to smile as he is to joke about himself and his work during an informal discussion on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE).

CSE Students Head to Mexico for First International Alternative Spring Break Service Trip

When 10 College of Saint Elizabeth Women’s College students packed their suitcases for a trip to Mexico, they, unlike many of their contemporaries heading for spring break, left their bathing suits and dancing shoes behind. Instead this hand-picked group headed to the poorer neighborhoods of El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico, from March 2 to 8 as part of the College’s service initiative called the Alternative Spring Break.

Do you have an interested in drawing; want to immerse yourself for a day sketching from live models, trying new drawing techniques, challenging yourself on the computer, or learning some beginning approaches to line and shading? CSE Communication Professors Koski and Agatino Co-Author Chapter in New Textbook

CSE Communication professors Drs. Steven Koski and Daniel P. Agatino co-authored Chapter Three in the new textbook entitled, Copyright Theft in the Multimedia Classroom (Hampton Press Inc., NJ).

 

The chapter deals with pedagogical and legal issues related to the use of various forms of new media in the classroom. The textbook is scheduled to arrive in Spring 2008.

 

Congratulations to Drs. Koski and Agatino for sharing their expertise in teaching students about the legality of modern day journalism.

Owens Named “Woman of the Year” by NJAIAW; CSE Swim Team Gains Highest Academic Honor in NJ

CSE Softball Captain Michelle Owens, ’08, was honored this month as one of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women’s (NJAIAW) “Woman of the Year” at the National Girls and Women in Sport Day held at Seton Hall University on Sunday, February 3, 2008.

CSE Students Serve at Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown

Foods and Nutrition students at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), served an entire meal to hundreds of clients at the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown, N.J., on December 4, 2007, after gaining the experience necessary through weeks of CSE course time gained during their Quantity Foodservice Production Class.

Mr. G, Irv Gikofsky, the CW11 News at Ten weather expert,, who has been delivering forecasts on New York television for almost 30 years, and Dr. Robi Ludwig, psychotherapist appearing on CNN’s Nancy Grace and Larry King and the NBC Today shows and author of “Till Death Do Us Part,” spoke with students of the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE) on November 19, 2007.

CSE is Accepted into the Eastern College Athletic Conference

The College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), Morristown, N.J., Athletics Department has been accepted, as an institution, into the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), the largest athletic conference in the United States.
