CSE to Hold 106th Commencement, May 10

On Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m., the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, New Jersey, will hold its 106th Commencement exercises in a tent on the front lawn of campus. During the ceremonies, 259 undergraduate students and 219 graduate students are expected to receive their degrees. With 478 graduating men and women* receiving degrees, this year’s is the largest graduating class in CSE history.

Summer Classes at CSE to Start June 2 and July 7

Looking to take a summer college class, while still having time for vacation and fun? If so, turn to the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE). With a newly-formatted summer course schedule, the College will begin four-week co-ed summer sessions on campus starting June 2, in addition to more than 30 on-line course offerings.

CSE Hosts Adult Open House, March 19

On March 19th, the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), will host an Open House for all of its co-ed graduate and undergraduate programs for adults. In total, through its day-time women’s college, evening/weekend co-ed programs, and off-site locations, students can choose from nine graduate, 28 undergraduate and one doctoral program. Certificate programs are also available in teacher education and counseling psychology.

Classes Begin Jan. 14 for Joint CSE/CCM Business Program

When spring semester classes start at CSE on January 14, 2008, a new door is opening for students from County College of Morris (CCM). On that date, the first students in a joint CSE-CCM business degree program will begin classes. The program allows students to transfer up to 96 credits from CCM to CSE, and complete a bachelor’s degree at CSE through flexible evening, weekend and on-line programs.

New Computer Degree Offered at CSE

Students at the College of Saint Elizabeth registering for Spring 2008 classes, which starts on January 14, will have a new major to select from: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Systems. The new program offers a balance between computing technology and the business world, with strong emphasis on the effective use of computers and information technology in solving problems in business.

More than 300 nursing students gathered in the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), Morristown, N.J., Annunciation Center on October 24, 2007, to hear Dr. Robert Atkins, RN, Ph.D., speak on the effects of poverty on children’s health.

CSE Announces New Board of Trustees Members; Welcomes Returning Members

The College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), Morristown, NJ, is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees: Francis J. Mertz, Sister Rosemary Moynihan, S.C., Katherine A. Regan, and Steven M. Rose and welcomes returning members Emma N. Byrne and Peter V. Mancuso.  In announcing the newly appointed and returning board members, President Sister Francis Raferty said, “the spiritual, educational, financial and health care experience of these individuals when collectively joined will serve as a beacon to successfully guide the path of the College well into the next century.”

CSE Nursing Forum: “The Effects of Poverty on Children’s Health,” Oct. 24, 2007

The effects of poverty on children’s health will be the focus of “Nursing Research Day,” to be held at the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday, October 24 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at CSE new performing arts center, Annunciation Center. Addressing the topic will be Robert Atkins, PhD, RN, an assistant professor from Rutgers University.

CSE Dedicates Performing Arts Center, Sept. 8, 2007; Invites Public

The College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), during its 109th academic year, marks a magnificent moment in its history on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 2 p.m. Community members are invited to join CSE for an Open House and Dedication of Annunciation Center, CSE’s First Performing Arts Center since its establishment in 1899, and the first building to be constructed on the campus in more than 40 years.

Students’ Arrival at CSE Marks Start of New Doctoral Program

Monday, August 13 represents a milestone for the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., as students for the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies’ inaugural doctoral program gather for classes. Twenty students have been accepted into this historic class, all expecting to earn a doctorate in Educational Leadership over the next three years. The program focuses on the value of leadership as service and social responsibility. The purpose is to prepare globally conscious servant leaders for our schools. Students in the program will work as a team, or cohort.

Celebrating Community Investment: Donor Support for CSE Annunciation Center Makes a Difference in Student Lives, Local Community

This summer, when construction for the College of Saint Elizabeth’s (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., Annunciation Center is complete, CSE President Sr. Francis Raftery will not only take some personal satisfaction in the new building but will also thank donors for sharing with her the College’s vision of creating this fine liberal arts facility.

 

What began with a challenge gift of $1 million from the Dolan Family Foundation has now flourished into nearly $13 million raised by CSE faculty and employees, foundations and corporations, Sisters of Charity, trustees, and alums.

CSE Graduates Largest Class in History, May 12, 2007

The College of Saint Elizabeth held is 105th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 12, 2007 on the front lawn of the College campus. A total of 443 students graduated, including 285 from the Women’s College and 158 graduate students - the largest class in CSE history.

New Jersey 32nd Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells, Esq. presented this year’s Commencement Address to the Class of 2007. Receiving this year’s honorary Doctor of Laws degree, Honoris Causa, was Secretary Wells and J. Martin Comey, a certified public accountant; Bonnie J. Monte, artistic director of The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey received a Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa.

CSE Offers Summer Classes Beginning May 15, 2007

Join the ranks of Errol Flynn and Johnny Depp by registering for SWASHBUCKLING 101 as part of the adult non-credit classes planned at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, NJ, beginning May 15.  For the non-swordsmen, there are classes in PASTA and PASTRY MAKING with best selling author and chef Giovanna Bellia LaMarca; a session devoted to the floral symbolism in Shakespeare’s works, A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME, presented in the beautiful Shakespeare Garden adjacent to the campus greenhouse; and, a two-day event geared to exploring the art and culture of the Latin culture of Europe and South America, YOU’VE NEVER SEEN THE MET, with anthropologist Delicia Koeneke.
