CSE Fall Classes Begin Aug. 23, 2008
When fall classes begin at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), on August 23, many students will be logging on to their computers, rather than driving or walking to class.
About 45 courses will be offered online for fall 2008, up 55% from the same semester last year. Online courses – in subjects from human resource management to nutrition, criminal justice and e-business — will be available for undergraduate and graduate students. The number of online offerings has been trending upward over recent semesters. This past summer, almost 40 online courses were offered, up from 34 courses last summer.
“Expanded online offerings is just one way we try to better serve our undergraduate and graduate student populations,” said James Dlugos, VP and Dean for Academic Affairs. “We also have accelerated weekend programs, evening courses and the traditional daytime program. We pride ourselves in making the college experience positive and enriching.”
The increase in online courses also parallels the College’s commitment to becoming more environmentally conscious. Across campus, efforts such as recycling, reducing the volume of printed paper and installing more energy efficient lighting are being intensified.
