Dr. Margaret Wheatley, internationally acclaimed speaker, writer and teacher, offered her views on world leadership at a visit to the College of Saint Elizabeth on Monday, July 14.  She emphasized to students, college leaders and community participants the importance of using an eco-system approach to leadership, instead of a dictatorial approach. She said that studies of workers over the last 60 years show that self-regulated work groups, where worker involvement is paramount, have been more productive and successful that groups where workers are heavily managed and controlled.

Her visit was sponsored by the doctoral program in educational leadership at the CSE.

Some of the books Ms. Wheatley has authored include, Leadership and the New Science; Finding our Way, Leadership for an Uncertain Time; and Turning to One Another. Further information on Ms. Wheatley is available at http://www.margaretwheatley.com/.
