Speaking at this year’s Conference is Reverend Lawrence J. Madden, SJ, founder and director of the Georgetown Center for Liturgy. He will speak to audience members in his featured presentation entitled, “Dining in the Kingdom: Unveiling the Transformative Power of the Eucharist,” will explore the history and practice of early Christian worship, alongside the study of Ignatian spirituality.

According to Dr. Linda Baratte, director of the Center for Theological and Spiritual Development, the day’s focus is to offer spiritual reflection and renewal to those within the religious community. “The experience of gathering at the Eucharistic table to receive nourishment for our ongoing journey in the life of faith and discipleship is a hallmark of our Catholic identity,” explains Dr. Baratte. “It is a privilege to welcome Father Madden and our distinguished workshop presenters as they guide us in ways to deepen our commitment to serve our parish communities with new insight and commitment.”

Fr. Madden has served as director of Campus Ministry and as a member of the Theological Faculty at Georgetown University. A frequent speaker at conferences and parish programs, Fr. Madden has written numerous articles and edited and co-authored several books on liturgy and American spirituality.
