Overview
The College of Saint Elizabeth Basketball team looks to improve upon their 20 win, conference champions and ECAC Semi-Final Appearance in 2009-2010. In addition, the Screaming Eagles Basketball Team captured the NCAA 2008-2009 title of "Best Defense" in Division III, holding opponents to an average of 49 points per game.
Most coaching staffs would be satisfied with a season performance like the 2008-09 campaign, but not Head Coach Tony Bonavitacola and Assistant Coach James Sweeney. This coaching duo, knows that the team still has more to achieve going into their inaugural season in the North Eastern Athletic Conference and a NCAA Automatic Qualifier at stake!
The team was very balanced this past season and the coaching staff looks to continue that balance with the contributions of shooting sensations senior Sarah Kozlowski, junior Maesoon Deeb and the return of senior Bridget Sweeney, after sitting out last year with a knee injury. Spending time at the point this season will be the sensation from Connecticut, sophomore Anastasia Feola and junior Diane Da Silva. In the post position is where the team has gained depth with their recruiting class. All, incoming freshmen will be looked upon to play contributing roles this season.
