The College of Saint Elizabeth Volleyball Record Book is now available!
In 1994, Screaming Eagles volleyball began its journey at the NCAA III level. As a member of the Association of Independents and of the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference, the team experienced a good deal of success, earning quarter-final and semi-final berths numerous times in the conference tournament.
In 2008, their final year as member of the HVWAC, the Screaming Eagles enjoyed one of their best years in the conference, placing second in the regular season with a 5W-1L record and reaching the semi-final of the conference tournament. In recognition of their regular season work and post-season tournament endeavors, Renee Windeknecht, Isabel Machuca and Irena Moore were named to the HVWAC Volleyball All-Conference Team.
In 2009, the College of Saint Elizabeth entered a new chapter in its athletic history as it joined the North Eastern Athletic Conference. In its inaugural season, Irena Moore earned the NJAIAW Woman of the Year award celebrated at Seton Hall University. In 2011, co-captain Chanice Sears earned the same distinction after leading the Screaming Eagles to its most successful season overall in the history of the program during that year.
During the 2012 campaign, the Screaming Eagles had its most successful campaign in program history under Head Coach Tony Martins posting a program’s best 22W-7L record in 2012.
The 2012 Screaming Eagles posted a program best 22W, the best overall record (22W-7L), the most wins in the NEAC since CSE joined the conference (6W), the best team record in the NEAC since CSE joined the conference (6W-5L) and tied the highest finish ever in the NEAC (6th).
The Eagles had three players ranked in the top 50 nationally for Aces per Set in the past 2 seasons, including a 14th best national ranking in 2012. The team was also ranked 11th nationally in the same category in 2011 and 12th in 2012. CSE was the second highest ranked team in New Jersey in that category as well for the second consecutive year. In addition, the NEAC selected an Eagle player to its All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season in 2012 (Subhana Wrights – 2012, Katie Cooper - 2011). The NEAC also bestowed Player of the Week and Highlight Player of the Week honors to CSE players over the past 2 seasons.
