GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in the sports of men’s and women’s swimming & diving for the period ending November 6, 2011.  The NEAC had a pair of co-student-athletes of the week selections for each sport after all four swimmers put together tremendous performances.

Sophomore Matt Sleezer (Gloversville, N.Y.) and freshman Connor Worden (New Bedford, Mass.) were both named the NEAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Co-Student-Athletes of the Week after each posted terrific performances.  Sleezer set the all-time school mark for the Wells College Express in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.81 and helped lead the 200-yard freestyle medley team to a first place finish with a school record-setting time of 1:35.14 during the team’s dual against SUNY Brockport Saturday.  Sleezer also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (0:23.23).

Worden led the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers to their first dual meet win of the season on Sunday with a pair of first-place finishes in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.93) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:57.14) against Bard College of Simon's Rock (Mass.).  Worden also took second place in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.06) at the event, which Cobleskill won 315-240.

Freshmen Maria Corall (Newton, N.J.) and Audrey Harper (Fishkill, N.Y.) were both selected as the NEAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Co-Student-Athletes of the Week after both turned in stellar performances.  Corall broke two College of Saint Elizabeth records after taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:18.80 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:52.37, while also coming in first place in the 100-yard Fly with a time of 1:08.23 to help lead the Screaming Eagles to a 55-39 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent this past Tuesday.

Harper won all three of her individual races during SUNY Cobleskill’s match against Bard College of Simon's Rock (Mass.) Sunday, winning the 50-yard freestyle (0:27.88), 100-yard freestyle (1:01.90) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:22.02).   The Fighting Tigers fell in the dual, 388-346.
