Giants Ruin CSE Soccer Opening Day Party, Defeat Eagles in First Game at New Campus Field

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Visiting Keystone College notched four first-half goals on its way to a 1-0 season-opening victory over Saint Elizabeth on Friday afternoon at brand-new Soccer/Lacrosse Field.

The Giants offense got rolling with a pair of scores by Samantha Littleford. The second was assisted by Shaine Johnson who fed a long ball down the center of the field to Littleford.

Johnson added a goal of her own a minute later as the Giants (1-0) opened up the 3-0 advantage. Littleford completed the hat trick in the 30th minute as Keystone held the 4-0 lead at intermission.

The Giants collected four more goals in the second half on their way to the victory.

CSE goalie Grace Bailey made 13 saves in her collegiate debut in goal.

Saint Elizabeth will open its North Eastern Athletic Conference schedule in a week, hosting Penn State Berks on Sept. 7.
