Screaming Eagles support breast cancer awareness

MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The athletics department and the student-athletes at the College of Saint Elizabeth will again in 2012-13 join the fight against breast cancer and hold "Think Pink" events at home games.

The Think Pink games are a chance for the Screaming Eagles to honor the victims of breast cancer, collect donations that go toward cancer research and increase awareness of this terrible disease.

An initiative that started at basketball games has grown to include all of the teams at Saint Elizabeth. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Associate Director of Athletics Kaitlin Burud have worked to create a home game atmosphere that includes a pregame moment of silence, a prize raffle at halftime, and the Screaming Eagles athletes in bright pink attire.

For 2012-13, Saint Elizabeth celebrated Think Pink with its home soccer match on October 6 against Gallaudet and is scheduled to host Think Pink at a home volleyball match on Friday, Oct. 26 against visiting Cooper Union.

Expected winter Think Pink games:

Women's basketball: January 9 vs. Penn State Berks 7 p.m.
Women’s Swimming: December 5 vs. College of New Rochelle 6 p.m.
