Jarmolinski named NEAC and ECAC student-athlete of the week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced their Student-Athlete of the Week selections in women’s basketball for the period ending February 19, 2012.

Sabrina Jarmolinski (Lakewood, N.J.) has been named the NEAC and ECAC Women’s Student-Athlete of the Week after helping lead the playoff-bound College of Saint Elizabeth Screaming Eagles to two conference victories.  The do-it-all senior forward closed out the regular season with two-game averages of 30 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal per game while shooting 54 percent (22-for-41) from the field and 60 percent (6-for-10) from the 3-point line.  Jarmolinski opened the week with a game-high 33 points and team-highs of 11 rebounds and six assists in a 75-65 victory over NEAC South Division rival Lancaster Bible College Thursday, and followed that up with a game-high 27 points, nine boards, four assists and two steals in a 77-48 victory over Penn State Abington Saturday. The two conference victories helped the Eagles clinch second place in the NEAC South and earn the right to host their first-ever NEAC playoff game.  Jarmolinski finished the regular season as the NEAC leader in scoring at 21.3 points per game, while being second in rebounds at 11.2 boards per game.
