Rogers chips in 10 points, Eagles fall short to neighboring FDU

FLORHAM PARK -- CSE freshman Amerisse Rodgers led the Screaming Eagles with 10 points  and three assists but neighbor Fairleigh Dickinson proved too much, topping Saint Elizabeth 87-32 in nonconference basketball action Monday night.

The Devils (5-1) trailed CSE 6-2 at the onset, but opened up a 26-6 run that turned into a commanding halftime lead. The Screaming Eagles (1-3) were unable to get within striking distance despite making 7 of their 10 free throw attempts.

Saint Elizabeth got six points apiece from senior Kelly O'Dell and junior Cheyenne Grant.

The Screaming Eagles make a quick turnaround and open up North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Tuesday night with a 6 p.m. game at Penn State-Harrisburg. CSE returns home this weekend for a pair of games. On Saturday, they host Wilson at 1 p.m. and then welcome SUNY Old Westbury on Sunday, also at 1 p.m.
