CSE Alumna Sabrina Jarmolinski, ’12, Honored During Her Basketball Jersey Banner Unveiling, March 6, 2013

At a banner ceremony that took place on March 6, 2013, in the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE) Saint Joseph’s Hall Gymnasium, Sabrina Jarmolinski, ’12, saw her No. 23 jersey permanently affixed to the gym wall. It joined those belonging to other CSE alums who have achieved a great athletic career at the College of Saint Elizabeth, including Jarmolinski’s team mates Jessica Dixon, ’10, Sarah Kozlowski, ’10, and Maesoon Deeb, ’11. She was honored as one of the many athletes to have scored 1,000 points during their College careers. She achieved this feat on January 8, 2012, during a game at SUNY Cobleskill.

Jarmolinski’s accomplishment is another example of CSE’s commitment to developing the talents of women athletes. The College supports eight women’s varsity intercollegiate sports at the Division III level recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). CSE is a member of the prestigious North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), a conference comprising Division I, II, and III institutions across the East Coast.

The basketball star and justice studies major was modest about her accomplishments, saying,“I believe anybody can reach the 1000th point milestone if they put their mind to it. Hard work and determination are two essential ingredients to achieve success.”

Jarmolinski, who was a three-time All-NEAC selection, completed her college campaign with 1,369 points, 760 rebounds, 192 assists and 187 steals. During her senior season in 2011-12, Jarmolinski was ninth among all NCAA Division 3 players with 21.1 points per game and led the Screaming Eagles to the program’s first-ever NEAC playoff bid.  During her senior season, she was named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week three times. Jarmolinski was also named Eastern College Athletic Conference Basketball Player of the Week.  She was selected All-Conference for the third consecutive season. She was a second-team honoree following her junior season in 2010-11 and received recognition as a third-team as a sophomore in 2009-10.

This is the third consecutive season a CSE woman was selected to the NEAC First-Team.  “It's truly an honor to have my name hanging next to other distinguished student athletes especially my former teammates Jessica, Sarah, and Maesoon. I'm forever indebted to the CSE community,” says Jarmolinski. “CSE has been a foundation for me not only academically but also athletically.”
