St Elizabeth posted a strong showing at the Drew Invitational this weekend, finishing in 3rd place with 139 points.
Veronica Lubsen, Alexandra Budd, Ashley Siscko, and Maria Corall got the Eagles going with a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay, with a time of 1:52.32. Corall and Siscko added 9 more points to the score with 3rd and 5th place finishes in the 200 yard IM. Veronica Lubsen had a 5th place finish in the 50 freestyle, with a time of 28:11. Jennifer Scully also added a 6th place finish with a time of 28:32.
In the 400 yard medley relay, Sicsko, Budd, Corall, and Lubsen swam to a time of 4:40.13, good enough for second place. The crew followed up in the 200 yard medley relay, with another second place finish, with a time of 2:06.76. Maria Corall took home first place in the 100 butterfly, setting a personal best with a time of 1:03.78.
Alexandra Budd had a nice showing in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing in 4th place with a time of 1:20.57. She followed that up with a 3rd place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke, with a time of 2:54.72. Captain Ashley Sicsko swam to a 4th place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.42. She followed that up with a new personal best and a 2nd place finish in the 200 yard backstroke, with a time of 2:32.72.
Another personal best was broken when Veronica Lubsen swam the 100 freestyle in 1:01.99, good enough for a 6th place finish. Corall and Scully both had a strong showing once again in the 200 yard butterfly, finishing in 2nd and 4th place respectively, with times of 2:34.02 and 2:39.15. Lubsen, Budd, Sicsko, and Corall finished up the invitational with a 4th place finish in the 400 yard freestyle, with a time of 4:13.06.
Drew University won the invitational with 353 points. The Screaming Eagles have over a month off before returning to action on January 18th with a meet at Cazenovia.
