The Screaming Eagles jumped out to a big first half lead and never looked back, as the Eagles took down Penn St. Abington 71-45 on Saturday.
CSE jumped out to an early 15-2 lead. The defense was the story of the game, holding Penn St. Abington to just 21.9% shooting in the first half. Ashley Pledger scored 12 of her 17 points in the first half on 6-14 shooting. Kelly O’Dell followed up her triple double on Tuesday, with 12 of her 19 rebounds in the first half. The Eagles closed out the half on a strong note, leading 37-19 at the break.
The Eagles flew out of the gate in the second half. Leading 48-27, CSE put together a 14-0 run to blow the game wide open at 62-27. Sharolin Sanders lead the run knocking down 5 of the 14 points, including a 3 pointer. The defense continued to be the story of the second half. CSE forced 9 turnovers and held Abington to just 20.9% shooting in the second half. The Eagles traded buckets for the remainder of the game, beating Penn St. Abington 71-45.
Kelly O’Dell finished with another double-double, 11 points and 19 rebounds. Danesha Triplett also added a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds. CSE finished with 5 players in double figures. CSE returns to action this weekend when they travel to Old Westbury for a 12 P.M. start.
