GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its Student-Athlete of the Week selections in the sports of baseball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s volleyball for the period ending March 24, 2013. These are the first set of spring selections for men’s golf.
Meghan Murray (Knowlton, N.J.) has been named the NEAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after two terrific outings for the College of Saint Elizabeth Screaming Eagles. The senior midfielder posted 17 points on 14 goals and three assists to lead the Screaming Eagles to a pair of victories and improve their record to 3-0 on the year, which is their best start in program history. For the second time in as many games, Murray had a game-best nine goals while also adding team-highs of 10 groundballs and six caused turnovers in a 17-7 win over Cedar Crest College Thursday. She followed that up with five goals, three assists, six groundballs and five caused turnovers in a 21-8 victory over U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Saturday. Murray is now first in the NEAC in both goals (23) and points (26).
