1. Why do I get solicited for contributions more than once a year?
The dates for the Annual Giving Program run according to the College's fiscal year, which is July 1 to June 30. The current 2014 Program encompasses all gifts made from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. You may have given a gift in May of 2013, which counted toward the 2013 Annual Fund. In cases such as these, you could receive a solicitation in the fall of 2013 as well, for a chance to give a 2014 fiscal year contribution. Additionally, we try to reach out to you through different mediums, hoping to hear which best serves you.
2. I keep hearing that every gift counts. Is that true?
Absolutely. Every gift of any size not only has a direct impact on the educational experience of each of our students, it is also a way for you to say you believe in what we are doing. Remember, also, that grant makers look at levels of participation among alumni, faculty, staff and administration and Board members in making their funding decisions.
3. Where does the money I give the Annual Fund go?
It is used to fill the critical gap between tuition and the actual cost of education – the day-to-day operating expenses of the college – general current year scholarship, keeping classrooms lit, technology updated, resources current, labs stocked and well-equipped, and facilities properly maintained.
