Admission Criteria for Master of Science in Nursing
Applicants must complete the following prerequisites before admission to the program:
- Have completed a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from a program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency for nursing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
- Be licensed as a registered nurse and have a minimum of two years work experience in clinical nursing.
- Have completed undergraduate courses in statistics, nursing research and physical assessment.
- Computer skills - proficiency in word processing, email and library on-line searches.
- Meet health requirements of the Nursing Program.
- Submit a personal statement, resume and two letters of professional recommendation.
- Complete a successful personal interview.
- Applicants whose first language is not English must score 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or higher on the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL).
- Programs and courses taken at colleges in countries outside the United States must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) for a course-by-course evaluation.
