The ABCs of Workplace Ethics – Dr. Catherine Martin

Course description: Questions about right and wrong occur in our lives every day. This course will introduce some principles of ethical decision making and offer opportunities to apply them to common workplace dilemmas.

Clash of Cultures – Dr. Alex Murzaku

Course description: In today’s global economy, mistakes resulting from cultural differences exact a high toll on businesses. This course will examine some of these issues along with the role of languages in shaping thought, behavior, and our understanding of the world.

Conflict Management in the Work Setting – Dr. Tom Barrett

Course description: In this course, students will briefly review interpersonal factors associated with conflict among coworkers. They will explore different conflict management styles and how these may impact workplace tensions. Finally, they will learn how such skills as empathic listening can minimize conflicts at work.

Internet and Computer Security – Dr. Jesse Yu

Course description: Individuals and businesses use computers and the Internet extensively. The widespread use of computers and the Internet increases the risk of unauthorized computer access, computer viruses, theft, fraud, and other types of computer crime. It is essential that individuals and company employees have a basic knowledge about computer and Internet security and understand the technologies that can be used to protect individuals and businesses. This course will introduce the basics of computer security, look at a variety of security concerns and explore some commonly used technologies to protect individuals and organizations against cyber crimes.
