For Ashley Hollingsworth, the College of Saint Elizabeth is just the right distance from her hometown of Toms River, N.J. She can easily visit home for the weekend, but gains the experience of being away – complete with different geography, friends and academic challenges.
“I chose CSE because it’s a small campus, but beautiful. It is one of the best decisions I have made in my life.”
Just completing her freshman year, Hollingsworth wants to become a teacher and enjoys minoring in art. She plans on using some of the techniques learned in those art classes with her students one day. “Once I receive my degree from CSE, I plan on going in to an elementary school and teaching the youth of tomorrow…making my classroom one that is fun, safe, warm and inviting…I want to instill in all of my students that they can achieve anything they put their minds to.”
On campus, Hollingsworth is a resident hall counselor, is planning on trying out for the volleyball team, and she is also the music editor for the Corpe Motus Dance Company on campus.
“CSE has let me experience things I never thought I’d do…it is an amazing school and I am glad to call myself a student.”
