Books related to art and art history have call numbers in the 700's. Reference books are on the main floor in the Reference Room. All other art books are located on the upper floor, left side.

  • Biography Reference Center (formerly Biographies Plus)
    Full text database providing coverage on a wide range of notable people, both contemporary and historic, with additional links to books and articles about these individuals.
  • Biography Collection Complete
    Over 170,000 biographies of contemporary and historic individuals from a variety of sources.
  • Clara: Database of Women Artists
    Database from the National Museum of Women in the Arts provides key facts and accomplishments of major women artists along with a brief biography. Artists range from all nationalities from the 1580s to the present.

 

Image Databases

  • ARTstor
    Digital library of more than 1 million high-resolution images of art and visual culture around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, with a sophisticated collection of searching, organizing and presentation tools for optimal use.
  • CAMIO
    Digital collection of about 95,000 high-resolution reproductions for additional access to a wide range of images across cultures and throughout history. All content is rights-cleared for educational use in the classroom or to illustrate papers, web projects and other assignments.
  • Google Images
    Search engine drawing from the vast resource of images found on the internet, but often lacking the high resolution and quality control found in our subscription image databases.
