Honors Program

Honors Program

Students accepted in the Honors Program are encouraged to devise their own curricula in consultation with the academic deans and other advisors.

You can qualify for this select group of students if:

  • Your high school record, rank in class, and SAT/ACT scores indicate superior scholastic aptitude.
  • Your college work demonstrates unusual proficiency and scholarly interests through a superior GPA.


  • Complete your general education requirements with Honors designated courses and seminars
  • Pursue guided, independent research


  • Specialized class with highly motivated students
  • Greater faculty mentoring and comprehensive advising
  • Opportunities to assume leadership roles
  • Exposure to professionals and ideas outside your major
  • Enhanced career/job preparation


With faculty support, tackle and complete an independent research project of your own choosing. Plan, execute and share the results with Honors professors and students.

Publish in a scholarly journal, present at a conference, or build upon your work during graduate or professional school.

The College of Saint Elizabeth Honors Program is a member of the National Collegiate Honors Council.

CSE Honors Students Attend Annual NRHC Conference

The Northeast Regional Honors Council Annual Conference – Standing on the Edge: Challenging Boundaries and Power – took place April 3-6, 2014 at Sheraton at the Falls in Niagara Falls, NY.

Twenty-one CSE students attended the conference, with 14 of them making presentations.
