Program Offerings

The Philosophy and Theology Program offers many distinct degree and non-degree opportunities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the core of our courses of study is attention to ultimate concerns, reflective thought, critical analysis, and integration of knowledge. We seek to develop women and men who are skilled critical thinkers and responsible moral agents with a hunger for meaning, self-realization and fulfillment as social contributors.

UNDERGRADUATE

  • B.A. in Philosophy

    1. Breadth of Study: History of Philosophy, Logic, Ethics, Metaphysics, Philosophical Psychology, and Theory of Knowledge
    2. Engagement with greater questions on the nature of reality and the role of humanity
    3. Develop problem solving, analytic reasoning, communication and persuasion skills

    1. Examines the core values of truth, justice, and reconciliation
    2. Study Scripture, Faith, Moral Theology, History of Christianity, and Systematic Theology

Outcomes

The targeted degrees and certificates offered in Philosophy and Theology give our undergraduate, graduate and continuing students an overview of the fields of Philosophy and Theology, and help them develop critical skills necessary for a future in education, law, church life, and other aspects of moral and ethical living.

Graduates

Many of our students have used their Philosophy and Theology training to become critical thinkers in our society, and have become chaplains, editors, physicians, youth ministers, and religious education coordinators. In addition, our focus on critical thought and logical expression are beneficial to those pursuing careers in law, research, education and writing.
